As a youngster I had a RC car like most kids do and had always thought it would be great to have an RC helicopter but they were so expensive and I never thought I would be able to afford one, and then I saw the Ikarus Piccolo. flying a helicopter indoors without any of the smell and noise you would get from normal RC heli's struck me as the ideal solution.
In 2003 my wife was starting to get ideas together for a Xmas pressie for me, so I gave her some suggestion one of which was a day's training and then a flight in a helicopter, the other was a micro helicopter called the Ikarus Piccolo, so why did I end up with a little toy helicopter?, well as I said to the wife, I could spend a day learning to fly a real helicopter and no doubt I would enjoyed it and have some great memories and photo's to look back on, but I am never going to be a helicopter pilot unless I had a helicopter of my own, but if I had my own micro heli I could teach my self to fly it and master the skills needed to control some thing pretty difficult to fly and get years of enjoyment not just a day.
Well Xmas came and under the tree was a big box, the heli had landed, and I have never looked back.
