This, apart from any other modification I have done, has got to be the best value for money.
The landing gear that comes with the piccolo although strong being made from carbon, once broken tends to be weak once super glued back together, there are many different ways to rectify this that I have seen involving using piano wire and hot glue guns, aluminum self fabrications ect.., and then I saw a post on the Ikarus forum for a replacement that was a made to fit landing gear manufactured from delrin, a light weight and flexible material in its thin form, the most important thing to remember when making any modification on a piccolo is weight, and this landing gear weigh's no more than what it is replacing.

The recommended way of fitment is removal of the tail boom, which means using a debonding agent to loosen the super glue or CA that holds it to the frame, this is no easy task, so I decided to modify this part of it by making a small cut in the hole for the boom to enable it to snap onto the boom this means you need no glue to secure and by not removing too much of the CA from the front mounting point you can secure it by friction as a push fit.
The finished product.
